Mōtsūji Bush Clover Festivalもうつうじはぎまつり
Bush clover blooms in the Motsuji Temple garden in mid-September, beginning this fall festival. 500 plants from three varieties light up the temple grounds with reddish purple flowers. Traditional court music (gagaku), the Ennen no Mai longevity rites (an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property), lectures, and the tea ceremony are among the events going on during the festival.
